Mikyla Cara is a UK-based singer and songwriter. Her soulful voice, contemporary writing style, and chosen melodies place her firmly in the neosoul/R&B genre among her most notable influences and sources of inspiration, Alicia Keys, Brandy, and Aretha Franklin. As a self-described empath, her voice is highly affective, elucidating her personal experiences and pain through her music as a vocalist and lyricist.
Growing up, Luton-born Mikyla took up singing at a young age, mimicking other artists until developing her sound through writing, vocal arrangement, and production. In January 2017, she released her debut EP entitled, 'Grown.' Since that time, Mikyla has continued to stand out with an ever-expanding catalog, including her most recent releases, 'Thank You, Thank Me’ (2023) and her latest EP ‘Feels Like A Break Up…’ (2023), featuring ‘Small Talk’ and ‘DYTIS’, both of which received support from BBC introducing and BBC 1Xtra.
As an artist, Mikyla Cara continues to develop her sound alongside talented musicians and producers, notably partnering with versatile South London producer Scarz.
